RBS Greenwich Capital, as part of its nascent efforts to build a corporate bond business, recently moved its prop trader Eddie Sulimirski to head the credit trading desk at the Greenwich, Conn.-firm. Sulimirski made the move in the last two weeks and reports to John Walsh, head of the firm's North American corporate bond business. Walsh said Sulimirski will run an investment-grade and cross-over trading desk, which is currently being formed. He noted that there are a few new hires planned for the desk but declined to mention names or specify how many more traders will be added.

Walsh, who was previously head of investment-grade debt capital markets at Credit Suisse First Boston, was hired by RBS in March to grow the firm's corporate bond business. He has since hired four debt origination pros from CSFB, including Bob Mitchell, managing director, Tom Bausano, Moshe Tomkiewicz and Bob Fahrbach, all directors.

Prior to working as a prop trader at RBS, Sulimirski had worked at J.P. Morgan Securities, where he ran the emerging markets desk until the late 1990s before moving over to head the investment-grade trading desk, according to Walsh. Sulimirski did not return calls by press time.
