Burton Weinstein has teamed up with Jeff Schachter to form Cedarview Capital Management. Weinstein was the senior portfolio manager at Aviary Associates, a $120 million fund that invested in high-yield, including bank debt, and Schachter was a managing director at Samco Capital Markets, where he advised hedge funds. The fund, which has been seeded by Capital Z Investments, will target long/short high-yield strategies and has $50 million in assets under management. Weinstein did not return calls and it could not be ascertained who will replace him at Aviary.
