GlobalMarkets (formerly known as Emerging Markets) is the newspaper published at the IMF/World Bank, European Bank for Reconstruction & Development, Asian Development Bank and Inter-American Development Bank annual meetings.
For almost 30 years, four times a year, GlobalMarkets' dedicated editorial team has collaborated with the development banks' organising bodies to ensure the newspaper offers unrivalled access to the great and the good at the annual meetings. Emerging Markets has been part of the GlobalCapital (formerly EuroWeek) stable since 2006.
The regional and international development banks have been integral to the survival of financial markets and free economies since the Great Financial Crisis. They have stepped into the chasm left by stalled credit flows, extending their investment grade status to exposed governments and lending capital directly to national and regional projects.
Their presence has also greatly aided the recovery in recent years, helping countries return to growth and benefit from the free flow of capital. As a result, the annual meetings of the development banks have taken on much greater significance in recent years — they have become crucial opportunities and meeting points for the banks’ members to meet and discuss investment opportunities and future collaboration.
Hundreds of central bank governors, ministers of finance, economy, infrastructure and development and c-suite private sector representatives are interviewed for GlobalMarkets annually. More than 25,000 public and private sector decision makers attend the annual meetings each year. GlobalMarkets is on the ground reporting from each one.
Our coverage is free to view for all and is hosted here on the GlobalCapital website. Although GlobalCapital is a subscription only service, meaning its content is only available to subscribers, all GlobalMarkets coverage is free to view throughout the year. We welcome you to share the articles with your colleagues and peers.
To ensure you don’t miss out on any of the latest news from the multi-lateral development bank meetings, we provide regular email updates with links to the latest articles. For more information on this free service and to sign-up for the emails please click here.
