A client recently invited a friend of mine, and a rival banker, to discuss potential opportunities and decided the best way to do so would be while cycling around Hong Kong for half a day.
By the evening, my pal, not the fittest of the lot, was an unseemly, sweaty, panting mess. To make matters worse, the lithe young fellow from the rival firm was glowing from the exertion.
But I comforted my friend with the thought that if he wins over the client, at least there’ll be celebratory drinks to follow. Cheers to that.
