Lloyds fights fire with fire
Thanks to crises and mergers, Lloyds Banking Group has one of the largest wholesale funding challenges in Europe, with almost £330bn of wholesale liabilities outstanding at the beginning of 2010, half of which had a maturity of one year or under. Little surprise then that the UK bank has also been one of the busiest and most aggressive borrowers in the capital markets. Chris Dammers reports.
