EU sovereigns submit to bail-in ball and chain
The adoption of collective action clauses for eurozone government bonds signalled a new era of sovereign bail-ins, reports Julian Lewis. Previously associated with emerging markets debt, CACs will force minority holders to join in restructurings. But, even supporters question the timing, and many fear the emergence of a two-tier market.
