Peaking issuance points to calmer future for issuers
The likes of EIB and KfW have had sharp rises in issuance over the last 15 years. Over the next decade and a half, while SSAs will still play a big role in capital markets, issuance will slow down while governments wrestle with fiscal consolidation, reports Philip Moore. However, the resulting tighter spreads will please investors.
