A record number of valid votes from high net worth individuals were received in this year’s survey. These wealthy individual consider EFG to be the top institution for the poll’s respective US$1 million-US$5 million and US$5 million-US$25 million categories while ABN AMRO’s private banking arm claims top spot for the above US$25 million category.
The poll was distributed to HNWIs with funds under management with private banks across Asia-Pacific. The poll results were based on 3,604 valid responses this year.
As in previous years the responses were divided into three separate categories, according to the level of assets under management (AUM) held by each respondent with private banks.
AUM WITH PRIVATE BANKS | BEST GLOBAL PRIVATE BANK IN ASIA |
US$1-5 million | EFG Bank |
US$5.01-25 million | EFG Bank |
>US$25 million | ABN AMRO Private Banking |
The two private banks also dominate the categories in Hong Kong and Singapore, while BNP Paribas Wealth Management enjoys a strong presence in China. Anand Rathi retains its lead position in the above US$25 million category in India, but has given way to Ambit Capital in the other two wealth categories. Hana Bank, CIMB Private Banking and RCBC preserve their top ranking statuses in South Korea, Malaysia and the Philippines, respectively, and UBS Wealth Management retains its leading performance in Taiwan.
