CLSA once again tops Asiamoney’s Brokers Poll for Asia ex-Japan. Respondents to the 24th Brokers Poll consider the firm to provide the best research and sales services in the region. HSBC retains its impressive second place while UBS stays in third.
At a regional level, there were changes at the top in Australia and Japan. UBS advances to first place in Australia, followed by CLSA while last year’s winner Macquarie drops to third. In Japan, CLSA overtakes Nomura for the top honour. This year’s poll of the region’s leading brokers received a total of 5,490 individual responses from 2,486 different institutions.

Elsewhere, stability remains the overriding theme across most Asia-Pacific markets, with most of 2012’s best local brokerages retaining their titles. Vietnam is the exception where Saigon Securities Inc. advances to the top spot, replacing HSC.
