JPMorgan has hired Larry Motola, global co-head of volatility trading at Bear Stearns in New York, as an equity derivative proprietary trader. Motola could not be reached. Brian Marchiony, a JPMorgan spokesman, declined comment.
Russell Sherman, spokesman at Bear Stearns, confirmed Motola's departure but declined comment on his replacement. Kevin Robik, head of structured equity products trading for the Americas in New York, to whom Motola reported, has absorbed Motola's responsibilities, according to an official. Robik did not return calls.
