You may think that Donald Trump resides only in US politics these days, but it seems there may be more than one out there. The loan market has its own gaffe-prone Donald Trump — by his own admission — in the shape of NBAD’s Jonathan Macdonald, who voiced an impertinent remark to the Ranger last week.
At least the loan market Trump has all his own hair.
Another boo-boo went to Goldman Sachs, which was literally boo-booed at a glitzy capital markets awards ceremony last week.
Goldman received a sour reception from the crowd when the bank donated just £10,000 to the charity auction and the crowd booed Goldman for its paltry contribution.
At least UBS’s CEO Sergio Ermotti got a better reception at the event, Ermotti was named ‘silver fox of the year’ and also called a ‘George Clooney lookalike who runs a bank in his spare time’.
Finally, JP’s Jon Abando gets a small boo from the Ranger for failing to turn up to a meeting with the Ranger this fine Monday morning.
This week, the Ranger is off to the United Arab Emirates and will return with tales of salacious gossip from the Middle East.
