“Maybe a new story starts here, a story of an emerged but still vibrant country” — these were the last words of the foreword to a similar report on Poland published by Global-Capital in May last year. After a year I can say: yes, Poland is a vibrant economy. Not only one of the leaders in terms of growth in Europe, but also surpassing expectations in the field of public finances. The reduction of the fiscal deficit was higher than we anticipated and higher than required by the European Commission, which had recommended abrogation of the Excessive Deficit Procedure.
