German SSAs roll with the QE punches
As recently as early May, Germany looked odds-on to follow Switzerland and charge investors for the privilege of buying its 10 year bonds. After all, it had already auctioned two five year issues at negative yields and generated demand of almost €8bn for its recent 10 year auction at a record low yield of 0.25%.
