Banks in the SSA business: leaner but meaner?
The smell of panic over the profitability of the SSA business is less pungent than it was three years ago when UBS very publicly quit the business. But that doesn’t mean that borrowers can relax or banks remaining in the business have an easy time of it: volumes are widely expected be down this year, meaning those in the market could be left chasing a diminishing fee pool.
