Bank of China has long played a leading role in the internationalisation of the renminbi and was one of the earliest issuers of a dim sum bond. But its efforts have picked up this year and taken a much more international flavour as it uses its extensive overseas branch network to reach investors outside of China and Hong Kong, writes Lorraine Cushnie.
