Green bonds: the new must-have for companies?
Corporate green bond issuance has taken off in the past year, as companies seek ways to enhance their marketing to the growing socially responsible investor base. As Tessa Wilkie discovers, there is usually no discernible pricing advantage for an issuer to print a green bond over a conventional one. That means they are doing it for other reasons — which so far have proved enough to stimulate rising issuance.
