Striking right balance on senior bail-in will be hard
Triggering bail-in of senior bondholders without destabilising primary markets would be a supremely different balancing act for regulators. Pulling the trigger too early — or too late — could have an equally damaging impact on banks’ access to senior liquidity in what would probably be very volatile markets.
