Sovereigns clear 2009 hurdle but bar is raised for 2010
Those involved in financing sovereigns will have breathed a sigh of relief in the closing days of 2009. They had survived one of the most testing years in the history of the public sector bond markets. But they enter 2010 with caution — the threat of inflation is growing and there are renewed fears over the amount of debt competing sectors will have to raise this year. Philip Moore reports.
