"I need an mtn can anybody help. Contact me at iwantanMTN@aol.com"
Looks easy to us. And did anyone of our dealers take the investor up on his enquiry? Not one, apparently. Slackers.
But just a few did manage to summon the energy to make it out on Wednesday night for Kommunalbanken’s annual soiree at the classically beautiful Norwegian ambassador’s residence: Toby Croasdell and Kiso Kentaro from BarCap, Chris Hill from BNP Paribas, Amaury Gossé from Commerzbank, Ben Lamberg and Julie Pertuiset from Calyon, Thomas Akin and Nihar Rach from Mizuho, Paul Snowden from ANZ Bank, and David Morland from UBS.
Henry Coyle for Jefferies couldn’t make it because he was busy proposing to his now fiancée Marketa. Two kids before the diamond ring — that’s a hard bargain Jefferies’s new man strikes.
But the MTN-ers made up for his absence, with most heading to The Collection in Chelsea after swanning out of the ambassador’s residence, looking like X Factor contestants as Ferrero Rocher wrappers blew behind them in the November wind.
But Thursday was a slow day in trades because it was Thanksgiving, not because they were all out until 3am. Obviously.
And the KBN crew were of course also out in force: Andreas Alestrom, Ben Powell and Marius Ruud all turned up for a glass of champagne or 10 to celebrate a year’s good funding.
Leak assumes this happens every night in Norway...
Marius: Another trade Ben? People want to give us even more money?
Ben: Yes, it’s great isn’t it, crack open the champagne! We hit our funding target six months ago!
Andreas: I’ve got an excellent idea boys, let’s go out to celebrate, finish at 3am and get up at 4am to make sure we’re back at our desks on time so we can carry on raking the cash in.
Who needs iwantanMTN@aol.com when the Kommunalbanken boys are about?
