Karim Zahmoul, a former co-head of emerging market structuring for the Americas at Deutsche Bank in New York, has resurfaced at Barclays Capital as global head of emerging market structuring. Meanwhile Laurence Schreiber, global head of emerging market structured products at Deutsche Bank in New York, to whom Zahmoul previously reported, has exited the firm. It could not be determined whether Schreiber, who could not be reached, is headed to a competitor. Zahmoul declined comment on his new responsibilities at Barclays.
Deutsche Bank has suffered several losses to its emerging market structuring team this year. In addition to Schreiber and Zahmoul, Hugo Faria, who had co-headed emerging market structuring for the Americas with Zahmoul, left earlier this year to head emerging market structuring at UBS (DW, 4/25).
